NOT EVERYONE DRESSES THE SAME
Not everyone dresses the same. This goes for kayaks as well as celebrities and the rest of us. What I mean by this is this. Once you've been out there using that ole trusty kayak for a few years, or less for some of us, you start thinking "it's time for an upgrade". You have old trusty outfitted with all the latest gear, all the gadgets and that expensive electronics package but the new boat has a different layout and a different feel. Not all these awesome accessories will have a home on the new boat. I've found in the past that it's better to make a trip or two with just the bare essentials then determine what added accessories you need. That's one of the best things about kayak fishing, all you need is a kayak, water and some fishing gear. Easy, barebones, simple fun. My advice, for what it's worth, is to start with the minimum and build from there. Make a trip then you can say "that was fun but I sure could use....." Add that item and go again. Add accessories as necessary. This will save you a lot of time and money. All this leads to a more enjoyable day on the water. We at Hammerhead Kayaks would love to sell you EVERY gadget and gizmo you could possibly pile on to your kayak, but we feel making your trips more enjoyable and saving you some cash will keep you as a customer for years to come. In other words we try our hardest to prevent buyer's remorse. We are in a unique position in that we do not depend on kayak sales to make our living. We enjoy the sport first, then worry about making a sale. Maybe this isn't the best business mindset but it's worked for us so far. We like to create a friendship with our customer as much as we like making the sale. We enjoy the stories, the visits when you have that fishing trip of a life time and can't wait to share it, we enjoy people more than money. Again, this may be a terrible business practice but our customers (friends) usually don't mind sharing the experience they have dealing with us with their friends, coworkers and family. So basically what I'm saying is spend a little time talking with us before you spend a lot of unnecessary money. Our advice and experience is free !!!
